I made an update to mention that the Grand Hotel now has air-conditioning in all rooms. I wasn't sure if I needed to cite (nor do I know how yet!), but the link is here: http://www.wzzm13.com/news/watercooler/watercooler_article.aspx?storyid=73830 . 75.40.225.228 (talk) 23:58, 15 April 2007

Assessment[edit]

I would still rate this start class. IvoShandor 01:29, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pushing B class though. I would get rid of small sections and combine them elsewhere, I would use a more specific title for another section, "hotel features" sounds like something you would see in an advertising brochure. Some minor tweaks could make the structure and content more obvious. IvoShandor 22:13, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm giving it a 'B' for the Michigan WikiProject assessment. It's a toss-up, though. I'll grant that. --Elliskev 00:53, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per emerging criteria for NRHP's that are National Historic Landmarks (NHLs), under discussion in talk page of WP:NRHP, I would rate this Stub for WP:NRHP, as it does not meet all the following criteria.

  1. at least a short intro is written that is factually and grammatically correct. MEETS
  2. NRHP infobox is included. It may appear late in the article, if the article is started by another infobox, or it may appear just following another infobox. FAILS
  3. NHL designation date is included within the NRHP infobox. FAILS
  4. NHL summary source is referenced as source for NHL designation date. FAILS
  5. NRHP inventory/nomination text or NHL nomination text is linked (if available) FAILS
  6. accompanying NRHP photo set is linked (if available) FAILS
  7. that any "official site" of the owner or controlling organization, if any, is included as an External link. Format as "Official site: (link)". NOT SURE
  8. that External links section exists and includes at least one link. NOT SURE
  9. that See Also section exists and points to List of NHLs in the state. FAILS

Note, it would be pretty easy to revise the article to meet all these criteria for Start rating. There are further criteria to reach B rating. I am changing the rating to Stub now. Please feel free to follow up with me. doncram 03:44, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should price listings be removed?[edit]

There's a lot of mention of how much it costs to spend the night, eat lunch and odd things. That doesn't seem relevant to an encyclopedia article. It's very specific and would require citations or constant updating as prices change. Comments? --GreatTurtle (talk) 20:13, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reads like a brochure[edit]

A large amount of the content added by this edit [1] appears to be copied directly from the Grand Hotel website. Sentences like "Grand Hotel has a wide array of activities to keep guests entertained or to just relax in the true classic American style." make this seem like an advertisement. I no longer have time to edit things as much as I used to but I would appreciate it if someone could convert this to NPOV style if they have time. --GreatTurtle (talk) 20:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
