It was a re-release, I can't remember which album though...

Goes to show the grammies means shit. You get wanks like Marylin Manson doing a remake of a duran duran song or ABBA and they win oscars, grammies, emis and sell millions... I mean what the fuck?! You try pulling that out academically and you get your ass banned and sued for plagiarism. 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Does anyone have a source for these nominations? I am absolutely 100% positive that Chop Suey! was never nominated for Best Metal performance, seeing as how it won the same year for Best Hard Rock. Actually, you're a bit mixed up there: "Chop Suey!" never won (or was even nominated for) Best Hard Rock Perforamnce. lol... strange that Judas Priest & Iron Maiden, the greatest bands considered in the metal genre haven't fucking got a single Grammy. Stranger still... suckers like Slipknot hold them. Grammys suck!!!

Okay, unless you actually have a link to a Wikipedia article on the Nashville Pussy song "Fried Chicken And Coffee" or the album that it's from, please stop editing it with links to the articles on "fried chicken" or "coffee". The table[edit]

Hey, I noticed somebody has the ambition to make this an FA canditate since somebody put it up for Peer Review. I thought I could help by saying what I think the article lacks! :)

I think the main problem is the table (the list). It doesn't really have a good way of showing which are the winner and which are the nominees. It doesn't discern enough between the years either imo. It feels like they are just a big clut of years... Or something. You should look at Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and Aurealis Award for best horror novel for how it should look.

I also feel the lead is lacking. It doesn't give a proper introduction to somebody who don't know much about it. For example it doesn't mention what a grammy award is. You could probably also get the bolded Best Metal Performance earlier in the lead.

An infobox perhaps would also be in its place? Try this one:

Also, this is just something random: Shouldn't all Grammy Awards be linked a bit better perhaps?

Thank you for your suggestions. I am currently in the process of getting this list up to Featured status. I hope you find that some of the concerns that you raised have been addressed, such as the differentiating of the winners and nominees, the better division of years, etc. I changed the table format so that it is similar those that have been used in many other Grammy-related Featured Lists. Also, I included the template you suggested (which happens to be the template I used when upgrading the other Grammy lists). Live tracks[edit]

I undid this edit since the source did not indicate that the track was live, but also because I find that (silly as it sounds), "(live)" distracts from the actual song title. Perhaps an asterisk or other symbol, along with an appropriate key, could be used to designate live tracks? This concept could apply to other Grammy lists as well, as I am sure there are several others that recognize live tracks or albums. I disagree. I don't believe that the "(live)" is a distraction at all. I think it's much easier than looking for an asterisk in the lead for the article or at the bottom. It's much more convenient for the reader to know that the live version of the song won the award right away than waste time looking for an asterisk or another symbol somewhere else in the list. OK, fair enough. But does another reference need to be added to the Ref. column to verify that the track is live (the current reference does not)? Rock on the Net indicates that the track is from The Downward Spiral, so we will need to find a reliable source that verifies that the song is live and the work it is featured on. --Another Believer _(Talk) 20:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First Female Solo Artist[edit]

I noticed someone added an uncited claim that Poppy is the first female solo artist. While this is true, I’m wondering if this is actually significant enough to be included. The claim is misleading as as far as I can tell she is technically the first solo artist to be nominated, female or otherwise. This is because metal as a genre is typically produced by bands rather than solo artists, especially the sort of metal that the Grammy’s picks up on it. While the award has been overwhelming male dominated, stating that Poppy is the first female solo artist is not actually evidence for that claim. Ganondox (talk) 02:18, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
