Minor style/meaning changes[edit]

It's the easiest thing in the world to say that "she made her living by writing"; but what is more interesting to say is that she found a way to survive, as was necessary, in the career of a writer: and to say it concisely without making her sound too passive. It also explains her choice of subjects in her last book, whence the connection and the semicolon. There must be an even better way of phrasing it, but it shouldn't be flattened to "she made her living by writing".... On the other hand, she was buried after she died, of course, which need not be said! Bill 19:56, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More information on King's stories[edit]

Grace King wrote literature during the time period of the late 1800's and the early 1900's. Her collection of the Balcony stories consisted of literature containing many social issues going on during this time period. Her works should be discussed that represent the densely packed cultural normality's at play , like "The Little Convent Girl". There is hardly any of her stories listed or as to what her stories typically consisted of. There is no representation of what her works were about, including themes at play and the gender and racial inequalities that were taking place during this time period. There are no reliable sources as to where one can go and find more about her past history and her upbringing. It is stated that she was a leader in historical and literary activities, but none of those activities are discussed, listed, or shown to be significant in any way, shape, or form.
