Deletion[edit]

Hi Bloodofox,

You deleted the reference to this site, calling it a non-scholarly site with an agenda.

http://www.germanicmythology.com/PoeticEdda/Grimnismal.html

What agenda does this site have? It has scans of the two main manuscripts of the poem, all of the available English translations, and a sampling of scholarship. The page is billed as a study guide to the poem. It isn't pushing any agenda as far as I can tell.

All of the external links are to "non-scholarly sites". Why is this one an exception? Jack the Giant-Killer (talk) 02:24, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Outside of this site being a simple collection of links to widely available public domain translations (which we can simply site from reputable sources), it also contains original pro-Rydbergian material ([1]) and various other unpublished personal essays. The site is an unacceptable reference and linking to it here equates to little more than advertisement. If there are problems with the other links, then they also need to go. :bloodofox: (talk) 11:08, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
