James Murray 1736-171[edit]

Chronicles of Atholl and Tullibardine (Page 115):

In 1736 he (James Murray, cousin to Sir William Murray of Clermont) was made Governor of the Isle of Man by James, second Duke of Atholl, which he resigned in 1741.

So, James, 2nd Duke of Atholl wasn't the Governor ... he appointed the Governor
