Location of first Government House[edit]

The (rather poorly referenced) article says that the first Government House was located in Waterloo Quadrant. Alexander Wyclif Reed disagrees; in his 1955 Auckland history City of the Seas, he states on page 58: "The residence was erected, not on the site of the present Government House, but at the corner of Hobson and Cook Streets."
