Translation[edit]

This article says that "Sun of Jamaica" was called "Nie mehr sein allein" in Germany - shouldn't the English translation "No More Being Alone" go in the article? ACEOREVIVED (talk) 20:02, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Genres[edit]

According to the body of the article Goombay Dance Band's music is "a mixture of Caribbean soca or calypso and western pop". Yet in the fact box to the right (only) the following genres are listed: "Pop, Eurodisco, Europop". The latter would be a fitting characterization of e.g. Georgio Moroder's music for Donna Summer. Surely Goombay's music is different from this? And should there not be agreement between the genre designations in the body of the article and those in the fact box? Undone[edit]

Their music has a distinctive sound (somewhat similar to Boney M.), a mixture of Caribbean soca or calypso and western pop. Most of their songs narrate a story and the lyrics are considerably more complex than most pop lyrics.

The second sentence was undone. I placed it carefully to fit in with the rest of the article, and I would argue that if you want to summarise their distintive sound, what I wrote sums it up better than their slightly tenuously resembling the sound of Boney M. That said, Boney M is still probably the closest sound to them and I would not remove that sentence. Any chance of reverting back? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.208.219.56 (talk) 22:16, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
