Population

The first four non-wikipedia results for 'Goolwa' in google cite four different populations: 4000 2360 7500 3018

4000 seems the most accurate estimate to me in lieu of exact figures.

The council - puts the figure at 7524 for both Goolwa and Hindmarsh Island. I found elsewhere that the 2001 figures for Goolwa were approx 5000 (5270 - 230 on HI). HI has grown a lot since 2001 because of the Marina, but I would estimate that of the 2254 increase since 2001, at least 2/3rds are in Goolwa. I'd put Goolwa's population down as 6,500. (unsigned)

History section missing words - editing probem[edit]

The sentence "Goolwa was Australia's first inland port (1853) built to connect Goolwa to Port Elliot and later extended to Victor Harbor, allowing goods to move from river boats to sea boats, so that neither had to negotiate the Murray Mouth." does not make sense. I suggest that it needs a full stop after (1853) then insert "A railway line was" before "built .... Cheers Mitch 139.168.195.100 (talk) 03:57, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
