Background to this article is that I found the previous version had been deleted due to poor content, so I've had to recreate it from scratch. My interest is that its an ideal place to launch a kayak for a paddle down to Hay on Wye. Tony (talk) 16:23, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good work on the article, but are you sure it should be described as a "town" and categoried as such? With a population of less than 300 that seems optimistic. Does it have a town council, for instance? Enaidmawr (talk) 22:26, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks I wondered about that so have emailed the local Community Council for a view and to check the article for accuracy and see if there is anything else important we should add Tony (talk) 07:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Glasbury is very likely to be a village as there is a Glasbury Village Hall see www.glasburychurches.co.uk. Seth Whales (talk) 09:17, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You are right of course Seth I just had an email from Glasbury saying its definately a village Tony (talk) 19:35, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just changed the category to "Villages in Powys". Thanks for the cooperation. Enaidmawr (talk) 22:35, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Fathers family are from Glasbury, myself I was there 2 weeks ago. May I ask who thinks the river Wye forms the border with England ? If this was correct half of Powys and the Brecon Beacons national park would be in England and my Father would be English not Welsh. The Wye crosses the border into England at Hay on Wye, but thats is it, it most certainly does not form the border, Offas Dyke more accurately runs along the border than this river. Why no mention in a supposedly factual, history of Glasbury, of either the De Wintons or Glasbury house ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.43.62.25 (talk) 11:51, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed it back to 'Clas-ar-Wy' as that is the form give in Gwyddoniadur Cymru and also is the form given in 'Enwau Cymru' which is the University of Wales, Bangor, database of Welsh Place Names (i.e. the academic source for place name in Wales) - it can be seen at http://www.e-gymraeg.org/enwaucymru/chwilio.aspx . Powys County Council uses 'Clas-ar-Wy' as the Welsh name of the village, see, for example, http://www.powys.gov.uk/index.php?id=3541&no_cache=1&L=1&membs2%5Bform%5D=list_form&membs2%5Baction%5D=view&membs2%5Bview%5D=members&membs2%5BcontactId%5D=73 this councillor represents Glasbury in English and 'Y Clas-ar-Wy' in Welsh. 'Y Clas-ar-Wy' is also used in National Assembly Legislation (which always gives the correct place name as any legislation could be challeneged on this issue) see 'http://www.opsi.gov.uk/legislation/wales/wsi2003/20030054w.htm' . I think the evidence is pretty conclusive that it is 'Y Clas-ar-Wy' in Welsh and I will actually change it to 'Y Clas-ar-Wy' rather than 'Clas-ar-Wy"EoinBach (talk) 01:10, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As a Glasbury resident, I'd like the article to be accurate, even if it's brief. I have therefore corrected the errors concerning the English border (see any map) and the inclusion within the National Park (ditto). RunningClam (talk) 00:02, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
