I tagged this article as needing additional citations, but a user has removed this.
I have put it back - there are a number of statements in this article which are unsourced and need reliable references. For instance, current third paragraph under Early life and career, starting "Appointed by Chief Circuit Judge Dale Ross in 1997". Tacyarg (talk) 22:50, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
