Catholicism[edit]

There were added the references to the Gospels according to which the gift of miracles mainly belongs to the consacrated priests and bishops of the Roman Catholic Church, and not to any believer who affirms to have special spiritual powers. There exists the Sacrament of the Anointing of the sicks and a specific liturgy, which is regulated by the Roman Missal.

While the Sacrament of Order transmits the Holy Spirit God by imposition of hands, a similar work is done by the Sacrament of the Anointing of the sicks from the priest or bishop to the believer. The difference is that the person cured by an illness of the body or of the soul (with an exorcism) doesn't have the power to do the same with other people, transmitting to them the Holy Spirit God with His divine grace.

There exists also the direct intercession of saints, by effect of devotional prayer and pious practices like the works of mercy. Regards, Theologian81sp
