Album Genre[edit]

The album genres are listed but is there a source to support this? 2600:1700:EA02:B900:DD01:6996:DA79:D72 (talk) 20:53, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 14 September 2022[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. No prejudice against renomination once the album's long-term significance becomes clearer. (Re Rotideypoc's question: I read the other RM as deciding only that the film wasn't primary, so I don't see the lack of consensus here as being at odds with that discussion.) "Get Rollin' (Nickelback album) has 214 views (and the Get Rollin' (album) redirect has 663) compared with only 103 for the film". -- Jax 0677 (talk) 09:37, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Right now it's hard to tell. Eventually, I'm almost certain a mainstream rock album will be the primary topic over a roller skating documentary from the 1980s. But for an unreleased album announced a week ago. That's less clear. Sergecross73 msg me 22:47, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment to closer: Talk:Get Rollin' (film)#Requested move 7 September 2022 may imply that consensus is that no primary topic exists. This close should say if that has changed to avoid ambiguity in interpreting consensus, just to be safe. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 21:27, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose As there is a film with the same name, I think it's necessary to distinguish between the two of them. It's fine as is.TJD2 (talk) 04:08, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per above. No primary topic.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:13, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 12 December 2022[edit]

Also proposed is to delete Get Rollin' (disambiguation) as unneeded. – This is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC based on pageviews. [1], [2], [3]. WP:ONEOTHER. Shwcz (talk) 15:18, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - Album is more notable than old film. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:22, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This was just discussed (again)[4]. The closer proposed nominating Get Rollin' (film) for deletion; maybe try that. 162 etc. (talk) 17:47, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - I feel that it is irrelevant whether this was just discussed. The reason that no consensus arose, was not because we don't want to move the album page, but because we did not want to move the disambiguation page. The point is, that the album gets over 200 times more hits than the film. I will consider nominating the film for deletion when I am on a computer. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:00, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support—I think the main difference between September and December is that the album went from upcoming to released. Some case can be made for a mass market album having more "significance" than a documentary film without many accolades. I'm a bit hesitant to paint with a broad brush, though, as I'm familiar with neither of these items and the significance of the documentary in relating the overall history of roller disco isn't clear. Thus - weak support. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:19, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The beginning paragraph’s phrasing makes it seem as though the deluxe edition of the album has yet to have been released. 76.127.233.235 (talk) 06:04, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
