Hilfskreuzer[edit]

"Hilfskreuzer" should be written with a capital "H" as german nouns are always written with capital letters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.76.62.1 (talk) 21:43, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Pinguin[edit]

Hi Guys!

I notice that there is no pix of the ship at the beginning (or ever!).

However, I found some good pix on two other websites:

http://www.bismarck-class.dk/hilfskreuzer/pinguin.html

              and:

http://www.wehrmacht-history.com/kriegsmarine/auxiliary-cruisers/pinguin-hsk-5-auxiliary-cruiser.htm

The first has a "gallery" at the bottom with some really good pictures! Now I know nothing about the copyright issues, but I suspect that these other websites probably would not care, and besides the ship was sunk around 75 years ago, so I doubt that copyright would be much of an issue, most having expired.

Anyway, it would be nice to provide a picture or two of this tremendously successful commerce raider on WIKI.

I hope that those of you who are familiar with the whole picture and copyright 'thing' might be able to navigate these waters and come up with a picture we can use? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.100.99.178 (talk) 19:18, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Survivors[edit]

Cornwall's boats picked up 60 members of Pinguin's crew and 24 of her former prisoners." That's 84.

"Of the 401 Germans aboard Pinguin only three officers, one prize officer and 57 petty officers and men survived. Of the 238 prisoners on Pinguin only nine officers and 15 seamen survived;" That's 85.

84 or 85 -- which is it? 104.153.40.58 (talk) 03:54, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
