Interestingly, the above link shows that Zoller's response to the accusations van Driem presented against him in JIES was not accepted by this academic journal.
To my understanding, time has done its gentle job and nowadays Zoller's discovery of kentum substrate in Bangani is mostly digested by the academic circle who read an publish in JIES: see for instance recent brief statements of M. Witzel about the subject. Nevertheless, more publications (hopefully also in JIES) about the subject are needed.
