Hope this is a good start...[edit]

  • Hi, I figured I ought to start an article on this school...feel free to add to it, change it, whatever. --Jamesmillersl 03:18, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Edited out the part about large numbers of Jews in the school and that many are wealthy. It really didn't seem necessary. Postcard Cathy
  • Maybe, then, some sort of demographics section? I do think the demographics of the school are important, as they are quite unusual. --Jamesmillersl 21:17, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you feel it is important, put it back in but the school already gets knocked by many that feel it is full of JAPs. I am trying to confront that it is simply a stereotype and there is no need to continue that here. The school is much more diverse than wealthy Jews. Even when I was there in the late 70s and early 80s. I don't know how to do a demographics section, nor do I know what the current demographics. Do you know either?Postcard Cathy 00:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, I did just graduate this past June, so I do have a fairly good idea of the demographics. Nothing official, of course. I doubt the district keeps records like that, and if they do, they're certainly not made public. Quite a few of my family members were in the school during the 1970s and early '80s, and according to them, the school was just as "JAPpy" then as it is now, if not more so.Jamesmillersl 16:13, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need help with a possible vandal[edit]

I keep deleting them and in edit summaries say that that doesn't make him notable. Is there anyway to prevent this person from doing it again? It seems that every time I delete it, he comes back right away and adds it back in. Postcard Cathy 16:26, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If vandalism continually occurs, you can request that page be locked.

How do I do that?

I will ask again: How do I request a page be locked? I can't find instructions in the help section! Or at least ones I can figure out how to do properly.

OK, I will ask a third time but this time using this new found tool: {{helpme}} How do I request the page be locked? Postcard Cathy 22:55, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:RFPP. Note, however, that there is not enough vandalism on this page to warrant locking. —Centrxtalk • 22:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) You should only put {{helpme}} on your talk page, but I'll answer here. What you'll want to do is to read Wikipedia:Cleaning up vandalism which should answer your questions. If you need to ask anything further, you can contact me on my talk page, or put the helpme template on your talk page. --Sopoforic 22:59, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stephen Cheng[edit]

I don't find anything for Stephen Cheng and Rock for the Children on a google search. I only find one link for Rock for the Children and that was from 1996. I am removing him from notable alumni until the person that keeps adding him can cite sources that say he went to Hewlett and that he is the founder of this group! 172.134.111.68 02:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Harvey Milk[edit]

I was wondering if Harvey Milk could somehow be added to this article. He was born and raised in Woodmere and later taught at Hewlett High School. No question he is notable. Watch this documentary Now there is a new movie about him called "MILK". Sean Penn will be playing the leading role as Harvey Milk. InfoFlow 17:11, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Edit request from Reyna Sunara, 2 June 2011[edit]

"As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,161 students and 98.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 11.8." The FTE is 93.80 and student-teacher ratio is 11.49 for the 2009-2010 school year. [1] Reyna Sunara (talk) 20:21, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

add name to Hewlett High School[edit]

I don't want to sound like it's an ego thing. However, as an Emmy award journalist, I thought I might make the notable list as a Hewlett High school grad. Please let me know. Thanks. Named after whom?[edit]

Apparently the school is named after some George W. Hewlett. If there is any information about him (birth/death date, occupation, etc.) is could be mentioned somewhere in the article. - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 18:24, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
