A portion of an article, "Winsor McCay, George Randolph Chester, and the Tale of the Jungle Imps," by Jenny E. Robb, from American Periodicals: A Journal of History & Criticism Volume 17, Number 2, 2007, pp. 245-259, is visible at The Muse Project. This source deserves review by someone who has access, because it seems to connect Chester with early comic strips and W.R. Hearst. More interesting is the article Mrs George Randolph Chester (Women Film Pioneers Project/Columbia University Libraries). In spite of appearing to be about Lillian Chester, this substantial article has much information that relates to George Randolph Chester, since they were a husband and wife team.
