Reference by John Fowles in The Collector?[edit]

George Paston is also the name of the artist Miranda is deeply in love with in Fowles' novel The Collector. Although he's usually called G.P. throughout the book, she does mention George Paston a few times too. I suspect this is a reference to the author's pen name, but I'm not 100% sure.
