Nationality[edit]

According to the French wikipedia he's born in Paris and French. According to an article in a Belgian magazine (Weekend Knack - 19/04/2006) he's Belgian.

French Wikipedia also has a LOT more detail. It says he died 9 Februay 1972, that he was born in Paris of English parents, "de filiation hollandaise paternelle". Whilst http://www.alohacriticon.com/viajeliterario/article1069.html?topic=2 has 1969 death, born of a British father and French mother. -- Beardo 03:32, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Matter Teleporter and other trivia[edit]

Am I wrong in thinking that The Fly is the first appearance in mass media of the concept of a matter teleporter, later to be made more famous by Star Trek? Shouldn't this be mentioned in the article?

Also, it is interesting to note that French Wikipedia says Langelaan's assumed identity as a spy in France during World War II was "Langdon." Anybody know if this has anything to do with the novelist Dan Brown's character Robert Langdon, who spends a lot of time sneaking around France?

Still no nibbles, eh? Bueller? Bueller? Perhaps some nefarious government agency is at work here.

According to teleportation in fiction, The World of Null-A might be the first appearance of it in science fiction. (Emperor (talk) 23:40, 18 December 2011 (UTC))[reply]

It is surely significant that he had his face remodeled by plastic surgery in SOE, and then wrote his most successful story about someone having their features remodeled - this should receive more emphasis. 86.187.175.90 (talk) 22:32, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Literary discussion?[edit]

The article has no discussion of his short stories, except for "The Fly". That's an unfortunate lack. I hope someone will be able to add that to the article. Zaslav (talk) 19:33, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
