Minder / Dad[edit]

There seems way too much on the forgotten sitcom Dad, but only a brief mention of his decades spanning success Minder!

This has been bothering me for years. And I don't think it's the sitcom Dad. It's set around Christmas and a one-off play. I think it was on Channel 4 about 1988. George Cole plays a Dad who has lost his memory. He lives with his wife and his son comes to visit and buys him a recording device to help him remember things.... What is the play called?? Answer:- DAY TO REMEMBER (1986) Play by Jack Rosenthal. Wally is spending Christmas with his wife Hilda at the house of their daughter and son-in-law. Wally is hoping that he will miraculously regain his memory during the festive season.

Olivier's Henry V[edit]

A Life of Bliss[edit]

The article also fails to mention his radio work as George Bliss in "The Life of Bliss". This was also made into a (fairly short lived) TV series.78.145.4.154 (talk) 00:27, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment upon "He is the last surviving member of the large cast of Henry V"[edit]

With all due respect to the author(s) of this article: George Cole is not at this time the sole surviving member of the cast of Olivier's Henry V, if this is the meaning of the sentence. Brian Blessed at the very least is (to the best of my knowledge) still alive as of today, the 10th November 2011Pdadme (talk) 22:40, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RAF Service[edit]

"where he was temporarily a radio operator." This is an enigmatic phrase. Does it mean that during his RAF service, he performed many duties, one of them being a radio operator, albeit briefly? Or does it mean that his RAF service interrupted his career, so that instead of being an actor, he was for a time, a radio operator? Was Cole air-crew, or ground staff, when operating radios?
