Editing[edit]

A note to admins- I deleted my own previous entry on this talk page because the information it contained about the article had become outdated. So please don't warn me. Thanks a bunch. Chuck Norris' IQ can be expressed simply as a sideways eight. 00:04, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Facilities and Activities Section[edit]

I think we should split the facilities and activities section into two different sections, like maybe "facilities" and then "areas" or "buildings" and "areas". what think you? Chuck Norris' IQ can be expressed simply as a sideways eight. 23:55, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Facilities and Activities Section[edit]

Sounds good to me, but I won't be on any more today. Lifeischeese 00:05, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article reads like an advertisement to me. Richard Pinch (talk) 20:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To some degree I agree, it did read like an advert. I have rewritten many sections that were clearly biased, and have deleted a few sections that need a complete rewrite in order to be neutral. In my judgement the article now conforms to wiki standards for neutrality and point of view, so I have removed the "advert" tag. If you disagree and decide to reinstate the tag please let me know on my talk page, and also please point to specific passages and/or sections that you believe are biased so I can address and discuss them on an individual basis. Also, a note, I forgot to log in at the beginning of my editing session, so the edits from IP address 67.161.192.55 are me. Thanks. SpadePrince 17:58, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But what it doesn't conform to is WP's WP:N standards. In what way is Geneva Glen Camp notable enough to be included in a dictionary? Should every summer camp in America have its own Wiki? I don't see why. Furthermore, there are some serious (and perhaps fatal) problems with the article. It lists no secondary sources, just links to the Camp's website. It is rife with weasel phrases like "Geneva Glen is reputed for the high rate of return for its campers and staff. Geneva Glen is commited to children coming home happy and full of wonderful memories." That's all very nice but it's utterly subjective, unverifiable, and not what a WP article ought to say. Everything under "Sessions" (the bulk of the article) should be removed, as should the majority of the "Facilities" section. It is utterly absurd to be listing things like "The fourth is restroom facilities, known as 'cinderblocks'" in a Wiki. Pare it waaaaaaay down and provide reliable secondary sources, or it'll be proposed for deletion. Bricology (talk) 23:45, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
