New draft for this article[edit]

Hi, I'm looking for editors to review a proposed revision I have prepared for this article. In general this article is not in too bad of shape, but I think other editors will agree that it does need some general upkeep and improvements. As I've prepared this draft on behalf of Gary Loveman, I do have a conflict of interest with this topic that should be taken into account. Because of my relationship to the subject, I ask that other editors review what I have prepared and provide me with feedback I can use to improve the article, if needed. However, if the draft looks ok to you, and you feel it is an improvement over the current article, I hope that you will move the draft live for me. Due to my COI, I'd like to avoid any direct edits to the article.

The draft I've prepared is in my user space here:

To help in reviewing my draft I've compiled some notes on the changes I've made. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything not covered here.

The updates I've made include:

  • Adding an infobox to the article (I would also like to add an image to the article, but I am still in the process of getting the appropriate permissions to release a photo of Gary Loveman on Wikimedia Commons. I plan to follow up on this later.)
  • Expanding the information in the Career section to provide more detail on his early career and transition to Harrah's Entertainment (now Caesars Entertainment Corporation).
  • Providing more details around the company's financial difficulties in the mid 2000s and explaining Loveman's role in this.
  • Adding events from 2013 that are currently not covered in the article.
  • Creating an Other activities section to group together information about Loveman's activities not related to his employment at Caesars. Some of this information is currently covered in the article's introduction, though much is new.
  • Creating an Awards and recognition section to list the major awards from Loveman's career for which there is independent coverage.
  • Removing the statement that Loveman is a partial owner of the women's soccer team in Boston. The source currently used in the article doesn't verify this information. Also, it is my understanding that Loveman has sold his ownership. See this article on The Equalizer.

If you'd like to make any changes necessary directly to my draft, please go right ahead otherwise I look forward to any feedback editors have for me. Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 20:32, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After reviewing the article (finally got around to it), I went ahead and moved it to the mainspace. It was well-written and more importantly neutral, so i did not see any issue. Wizardman 04:04, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, Wizardman! Very much appreciate your review and taking this live. I'm still working on finding a photo that can be used in the article, so hopefully I will be back here soon to ask for a little help with that. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 15:21, 26 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just to follow up here, I've heard back from Mr. Loveman and there's not a photo currently available to upload for the article, so I'll be leaving this for now. Thanks again to Wizardman for his help. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 16:56, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an editor, but I thought this information should be added/updated to his bio. It has been five months.

I am an Aetna employee and posting this from my work laptop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.213.251.31 (talk) 15:07, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Macau Sale[edit]

@198.84.237.86: I'm not convinced that the inclusion of Loveman's justification for the Macau sale is trivial. It contextualises the sale in general, without that it's not clear why this is information worth including in an article at all. My preference would actually be to remove that entire sentence and the one following, as they don't seem particularly noteworthy. I have partially reverted it while we discuss. --BeReasonabl (talk) 00:28, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@BeReasonabl:, I basically agree, but thought it might be too much to remove it all. 198.84.237.86 (talk) 02:10, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@198.84.237.86: That being the case, I have made the change per WP:BOLD. BeReasonabl (talk) 00:58, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
