MEDRS applies to not only content about regular medicine, but also alternative medicine. This issue was raised by Hyperion35 in the recent Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gan mao ling, however the article was kept. The main claims made in the article are a claim about the effectiveness of the combination remedy, and claims about the effectiveness of the herbal components of the composite remedy. All of these require strong MEDRS support, which currently none of them have. I shall remove all claims of effectiveness from the article. — Charles Stewart (talk) 15:14, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. We can use non-MEDRS sources for historical stuff, so long as we're careful to note that it's a long-disproven historical belief, like the idea that epilepsy was caused by witchcraft or demonic possession, or that malaria was caused by swamp gases. But yeah, my reason for voting to delete this was that I really don't think that there's going to be much to build an article, not unless maybe some famous Chinese emperor was treated with this (and, most likely succumbed to illness anyways).
