In the Baroque era, G minor was considered the "key of tragic consummation."[edit]

The article has had that statement for a very long time but no one has been able to put a citation to it. The Google results that aren't for Wikipedia are for blogs. Jindřichův Smith (talk) 20:05, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a hit here:

Kinda flimsy, I agree, though. GreenAsJade (talk) 02:18, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well-known music in this key[edit]

I plan on deleting any unsourced entries from this in a few weeks. (Listening to a piece and trying to figure out the key is not a source, and is also WP:OR.) Torc2 (talk) 08:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then in September an expand tag was added. I added several super-popular classical pieces and limited myself to one per composer. No OR issues with the key of a classical composition... half the time its stated in the title of the work. I don't think the list was originally intended to be classical centric, though. I'll leave that for the other editors to figure out. If the consensus wishes to pare back the list again, I won't mind. DavidRF (talk) 22:54, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
