Which is which?[edit]

The article says, "However, while there were references in the Transformers ongoing series to the events of the limited series, G.I. Joe ignored it completely, as writer Larry Hama didn't consider it to be canon. Towards the end of the ongoing G.I. Joe series though, several Transformers characters appeared in the G.I. Joe title as a prequel for the upcoming Transformers: Generation Two comic. The issues made reference to the first limited series. A trade paperback later collected all four issues." Why did Larry Hama say that Transformers are not part of the ARAH continuity yet let them appear towrds the end of the series? Split?[edit]

I added a Hasbro Comics section and a Tokyopop section over the past couple days. Perhaps we should split this page in a manner akin to the List of Transformers comics with a separate page for "List of minor G.I. Joe comics? What do you think? I would only keep Marvel, Devil's Due Productions and IDW on this page, with perhaps Dark Horse. Dark Horse only released 8 issues, but they were at the time the only company to publish Joe comics, whereas Blackthorne, Dreamwave, Hasbro and Tokyopop published during the Marvel/DDP periods. Benchpress should also go with the minor comics, since only a few art pages were ever released. 69.157.155.129 (talk)

Merge[edit]

The article at The Pit (G.I. Joe) can very easily be condensed and merged here. The article is overly long for the information it contains, and can be rediuced in size to fit perfectly as a section here, in line with guidance at writing about fiction and Wikipedia is not a plot summariser.   • Nay! Do not merge! Adding it to G.I. Joe (comic) would make that other article looking off balanced with the rest of it. The Pit article even if summarized still takes a huge chunk of space. If you want it removed or redirected elsewhere why not merge with all other smaller articles like that Jewel of Ameterasu into one? Say, something like Objects in the G.I. Joe universe or similar? GI Joe Reinstated[edit]

The section of GI Joe Reinstated says there are 43 issues but all I can find online is that it was a 4 issues series.

I did edit the section a bit to include the artist John Larter and correct the Publisher from Devil's Due to Image Comics.

Joe Reinstated is the nickname of the series. The first four issue was a story arc called Reinstated, hence the confusion. 70.50.2.80 02:36, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Photos[edit]

I am wondering why this article does not contain any photographs? With the evolution of GI Joe from its start to present it seems to me that there would be quite a few pictures that could enhance the quality of this article. Cartoon/Movie Section[edit]

After reviewing the Cartoon section I made some revisions to some the language and sentence structure in an attempt to make the section more concise, which is one of the featured article criteria. I believe that there are more revisions to be made. In addition, I think that any information that does not pertain to actual television series/cartoons and pertains to films made needs to be removed and replaced under the Movie heading. Split? Vote?[edit]

I think this page has become a bit too large. I suggest splitting it in a way akin to the Transformers pages:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minor_Transformers_comics

That is, the main page would contain Marvel, DDP and IDW.

A second page would contain "Minor G.I. Joe comics" (Hasbro, Blackthorne, etc.)

A third page would contain "Vintage Joe comics" (pre-1982 ARAH)

Also, IDW Joe actually already has its own page. Perhaps it could be reintegrated here, or left as a fourth page with this one becoming former publishers? Currently, there is a lot of redundancy.

I think the best course of action is to create separate smaller articles, no matter how many there are. And use this article as the center from where to link to all of the other articles with just smaller descriptions in this article about the individual comic series in the other articles. Don't reintegrate the IDW one back here it is just fine like it is. We already have the Marvel and IDW articles. The Devil's Due series needs its' own article, one should be created. Most of the material that is in this article can be transfered to the new Devil's Due one. That way this article would be shortened a lot.Plastelin (talk) 18:55, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2 factual errors[edit]

1. Devil Due's Frontline did not all take place during the 7 years between the Marvel series and the DD series. The firt 4 issues took place a month after the Marvel series ended, but all the other issues took place concurrently with the main title DD was publishing.

2. The current IDW Real Americna Hero does not disavow the Devil's Due continuty outright. It begins shortly after the Marvel series ended (and after "The Mission That Never Was" from Frontline #s 1-4) and takes place during the seven year span between Marvel and Devil's Due.

Protection[edit]

Since 22 May, a user has been adding the unsourced claim to this and other related articles that IDW is producing a series called "Street Fighter X G.I.Joe AND Trans Formers". I can't find any sources to back this up, so I and other editors have been reverting the additions, but the user keeps adding them back, and they are IP-hopping so blocking them won't work. I already tried protecting the affected pages for a week, but after the protection expired the user was back at it, so I'm going to extend the protection to three months and see how that works. The affected pages are this one, G.I. Joe (IDW Publishing), Transformers (comics), The Transformers (IDW Publishing), Street Fighter, and Street Fighter (comic book). Just wanted to explain myself in case I seem too trigger-happy with the page protection, let me know if this causes any issues. --Cerebellum (talk) 16:21, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
