Questionable portrait[edit]

I am fairly certain the portrait on this page is not, in fact, Güzelce Ali Paşa:

1) The dressing and the style of painting point to a later period, likely the first half of the 18th century, whereas Ali Paşa died in 1621. 2) The source does not mention Güzelce Ali Paşa at all and the link is only a reproduction of the portrait without any other point of reference. There is nothing else on the website that discusses Güzelce Ali Paşa.

I will do some more research on this. Tagging the portrait as "disputed" in the meantime. Yekshemesh (talk) 08:42, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned on the Christies website, the portrait is actually of a Turk named Mustafa, who was captured by the future George I at the Battle of Vienna and went on to become a high-ranking servant of the King.
