How many members?[edit]

The article lists one general, four officers per branch (total 16), ten NCOs, and two private soldiers, for a grand total of 29 members, but then states that the delegation size was 15. It then lists the members... and the total comes to 17. Which number is correct? Susan Davis 03:49, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Opening of Japan[edit]

The United States Navy under Matthew C. Perry went to Japan twice in the 1850s, that was technically the first western military mission to Japan. --$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 23:32, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, "mission" can be a bit ambiguous. I'll change to "military training mission" then. Cheers Per Honor et Gloria  23:41, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
