Translation[edit]

Please use User:Sheynhertz-Unbayg/Frankfurter Judengasse ! You can edit that page. --Sheynhertzגעשׁ״ך 16:04, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to know more about this:

So, if you know you had relatives there with your last name and a range of years to search, they will not search for it at the "Standesamt", nor will they allow you to hire a researcher to do it.

Who is the author? Is it a translation project?

And why exactly is everything here connected with someone banned? 13:21, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Year change[edit]

Was this change "Tensions between the patricians and the guilds led to the Fettmilch Rising between 1612 and 1614" made to win an argument about Harry Potter? 49.183.143.70 (talk) 04:14, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The citation for the year of the uprising (the presence of which long predates the whole Harry Potter debate, I might add), p.76 of "Early Modern Germany, 1477–1806" by Michael Hughes, states (emphasis added):
As such, while the movement culminated in the 1614 pogrom, the actual movement was from 1612-1614. The Google Books entry for Hughe's book has page 76 visible under its preview. Noir LeSable (talk) 14:43, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was the date of the actual edit that made me suspicious as the 1612 date was directly referenced in the debate on that very day and while the events leading to the actual uprising began 1612, the event itself was in 1614.
The usage of the term in connecting with the dates is a bit mixed in literature, but I see that it is as you said in the referenced used for the article.
I'm sorry if this edit in midst of the debate was a mere coincidence. Misato Tremor (talk) 10:58, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
