Cezanne?[edit]

Is there any attribution for the remark about Cezanne? It's not cited, and it isn't evident to me from his work, not that I'm an art critic, but I've probably seen as much Cezanne and certainly more Auerbach than the average museumgoer. - Jmabel | Talk 02:05, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fictional treament in W.G. Sebald's 'The Emigrants'[edit]

The character of the artist Max Ferber in Sebald's 'The Emigrants' is based in part on Frank Auerbach, according to this article in The Guardian, as well as in this blog

Is this something that could be added to the original article as a reference, or something of that sort? Eam531 (talk) 13:44, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfC: which non-free images should be kept on this page?[edit]

Based on the discussion at FFD, there is a policy-based consensus that the two non-free images at Frank Auerbach should be reduced to one. As discussed in the close, I'm organizing an RFC on the matter. I've organized a single discussion section at the bottom to discuss these works. Otherwise, I'm pinging @Cactus.man, Stefan2, Modernist, Finnusertop, Ceoil, Hullaballoo Wolfowitz, and Explicit: -- Ricky81682 (talk) 01:12, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Keep File:Auerbach, Head of Julia.jpg[edit]

  • If only one can be kept, I would choose Julia. It adds a bit of colour to the page. According to this article, she sits for him about three time a week, so the painting is representative, The other can be seen by anyone interested on the National Galleries of Scotland website (maybe an external link at the bottom?) Bomberg[edit]

David Bomberg was the biggest influence on his style and therefore his most important influence altogether. This is a fact. And I'm not sure why it hasn't been emphasised more in the article. Greg von Bock's illegitimate son (talk)
