FYI: this page states "In 1849, he was the first person to cross the Alps in a balloon, a feat not repeated until 1924." Yet on another bio page of "Sophie Blanchard (1778-1819)" states that she "crossed the Alps by balloon" yet she died long before 1849. So one must be wrong. This is my first attempt to edit on wiki, so I don't know how one would fix such a thing. Just thought someone should know. Pam Burrows (wandering.lunartic@gmail.com)
