Nationality[edit]

He was born in Gibraltar well after the Treaty of Utrecht. Can we really say his nationality was Spanish? --Gibmetal 77 ^talk 23:21, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. However, extensive activity of the British authorities on census shows for the whole of the century the population divided into "nations". You know that Gibraltarian status was something that was not developed until nineteenth century and possibly the nationality of Gibraltar-born people is more related to his personal history than to its birth place.
