Data available online[edit]

The following table summarizes all Fram Strait data from moored instruments available via the data-repository [1], the Digital object identifiers (DOI) point to the corresponding data.

I've removed the table - such material is not appropriate for a Talk Page. Bdushaw (talk) 08:59, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article Content/Organization[edit]

The article presently has a strong, perhaps over emphasizing, oceanographic focus. My own view is that the article should be primarily geographical, but obviously the oceanographic role needs a substantial section. The discussion of the moored array however should mostly go; worth a mention, sure, but the article is about Fram Strait.

Curiously, the usage of the name Fram Strait seems to be a somewhat recent occurrence. An article by Sverdrup dated 1950 (Physical oceanography of the north polar sea) uses the term "the opening between Greenland and Svalbard" in several places, rather than the more convenient "Fram Strait". One would need a proper reference as to the usage of the name, however and I've not found one. Bdushaw (talk) 08:59, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
