He's famous in France, but i can't find good english links to add. Everbody speaks about his death. But check this for estimate his value:

Consider adding him to the french wikipedia then? --Crossmr 05:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He's already in the french wikipedia. He's a big writer and the english wikipedia have a List of French language authors with less famous writers, why not add him?. But maybe I will seek help and advice with french wikipedians (my english is too bad) --Alink 05:31, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well if he has the notability established, perhaps just a good translation will do. Unfortunately I don't read and write well enough in french to do that. --Crossmr 05:40, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I removed the prod tag because with more than 40 works in IMDB [1], 97 on amazon.com [2] and an entry in the Encyclopædia Britannica [3], I think he deserves at least an AfD discussion. However, I believe he is notable enough to stay, even if he is more famous in France (France's current bestselling crime writer [4]) than in English speaking countries. • It would be nuts to delete this entry. This man was a huge cultural phenomenon in France and is very respected even though he wrote almost exclusively a very peculiar kind of crime novel. He has sold (literaly) millions of books in France, quite a feat. Whoever proded this did not do his/her research. The google test for "Frederic Dard" "San Antonio" turns up enough things (and enough things in english!) that clearly establish the guy's notability. Pascal.Tesson 04:31, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
