Naming[edit]

The National Register nomination form for the Arkansas Post National Memorial refers to the Spanish forts as Fort San Carlos. How did you decide to use the shorter form? (I recognize you're working with more sources than I'm familiar with; this may have become the commonly accepted term.)Parkwells (talk) 15:14, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fort San Carlos is actually probably the proper name. I created the article when the only source I was using was the Bearss report on Colbert Raid, which simply refers to it as "Fort Carlos". I've since noticed a number of other sources naming it "Fort San Carlos". In that case, the article might be in for a renaming. Samuel Peoples (talk) 19:55, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just to be clear: I think both names are generally accepted, but Fort San Carlos seems to be the full name. Samuel Peoples (talk) 20:09, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
