untitled[edit]

Something more on the history of FFord, incl a list of famous drivers who came from, & series winners, would be welcome. For a start, let me mention the first FFord to come to the U.S., the Merlin 11A. Trekphiler 16:59, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Do you realize how unpractical some of that would be? Famous drivers who came up through FFord number on the hundreds. Nearly every driver to reach F1 drove a FFord at some point in his career. Then add sportscar racing stars, touring car stars, drivers who failed to reach F1... See what I mean. Series winners I'd be for it. Pc13 10:05, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Series winners would be better suited to individual series articles, like Belgian Formula Ford, British Formula Ford, etc. Esteffect 13:40, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

F1600 Formula[edit]

Confused on why the F1600 Formula F Championship Series is not included here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.134.174.45 (talk) 14:23, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Duratec[edit]

Which Duratec engine is utilised for Formula Ford? Is it actually the Mazda MZR copy? --Falcadore (talk) 12:18, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Formula First[edit]

Formula First was a partly successful attempt to get back to the roots of Formula Ford, with a spec FFord-like car running a transversely-mounted Ford engine in a very low state of tune; it was designed as an introductory formula and racing school chassis, and served in this capacity for some years. - excuse me, but Formula First is actually a Formula Vee category, not Formula Ford! --Falcadore (talk) 12:46, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What is this intended to mean?[edit]

The second part of the following sentence does not make any sense:

"The car can provide drivers with their first insights into how a racing car feels to drive and how to properly set up a car, or it can provide a relatively inexpensive way for drivers to campaign purpose-built racecars for many years" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.148.176.127 (talk) 14:29, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

US F2000[edit]

Reading up on f2000.com, and at Van Diemen's website... The official website do very much play up the historic connection to to Formula Ford 2000, basically insisting they are the same category and are claiming their history. Also the cars ar Van Diemens, specifying the DP08 chassis, a Formula Ford chassis. Also the engines, Ford Zetec, larger capacity version of the second generation Formula Ford engine, and the Mazda MZR engine, which as far as I've been able to determine is again a larger capacity version of the Ford Duratec or Fiesta Formula Ford engine.

How is it not a Formula Ford category? --Falcadore (talk) 03:37, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grammatical Critique[edit]

Could it be possible for this article to use the word "however" any more than it already does? It reads quite poorly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.46.171.98 (talk) 04:28, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History of FF in North America[edit]

I think it would be worth while to expand the section on FF's history in North America. Here are some sources that can help summarize that history:

R&T (not as useful but) [[5]]

I've also got a copy of Steve Nickless's book The Anatomy & Development of the Formula Ford Race Car. Springee (talk) 05:32, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
