I notice that a user has removed all the external links, including the following:

I think the above links are locally significant to Forest Hill and should be re-included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.38.86.143 (talk) 12:07, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Karloff[edit]

I shortened a previous edit, but I now have doubts about the statement that Karloff lived in Forest Hill. The Boris Karloff article mentions nearby Camberwell (not Forest Hill); otherwise it talks of Enfield (north London) and - later in life - Sussex. Anyone confirm his Forest Hill residence? Paul W 12:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Boris Karloff was born in Honor Oak. This is close to Forest Hill, is in the Forest Hill postcode but the actual location, which is marked with a plaque, is usually regarded as Honor Oak. Though some may dispute this being Honor Oak today (and that may justify the mention) - that would have been the name of the location when he was born there. Further confusion arises as the road is called Forest Hill Road. Camberwell is mentioned because of historic borough boundary/name changes.

The Southwark-Lewisham boundary and the Surrey-Kent county line[edit]

If Forest Hill was partly in Surrey, why then is it not partly in the London Borough of Southwark ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alec - U.K. (talkcontribs) .

Not a suburb[edit]

Why is Forest Hill referred to as a 'Suburb'? A Suburb is defined as 'a district lying immediately outside a city or town, esp. a smaller residential community' - this certainly does not describe Forest Hill (just south of New Cross and East of Peckham). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.149.97.85 (talk) 14:13, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

 Done - it's an inner-city area. Jim Michael (talk) 11:10, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

it's stil called a suburb. i came here to contest the same point. forest hill is not a suburb. it's clearly an inner london borough area. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.80.105.253 (talk) 02:44, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Residents[edit]

There are quite a few questionable residents in this section - e.g. James Callaghan is generally accepted as a former resident of Blackheath for instance. 87.113.254.88 (talk) 21:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Other names more commonly associated with Blackheath: James Clark Ross, Glenda Jackson, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen - am sure there are others. It seems that someone has played a practical joke with this section, which is a shame as there are some genuine entries. 87.113.254.88 (talk) 13:42, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blackheath also: Terry Waite. Max Wall lived in Lee. 87.113.254.88 (talk) 13:51, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tidied section since no comments on this in over a year Morganfield (talk) 12:35, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
