Petition for Name Change[edit]

Ford Falcon (Americas) → Ford Falcon (North America)[edit]

The Ford Falcon of North America was built in the USA for the American market as the article so expresses, and Ford Frontenac was built in Canada by Ford Motor Company of Canada, the Frontenac was essentially a 1960 Ford Falcon built in Canada with its own unique grille, tail lights and external trim including red maple leaf insignias.

The article deals specifically with Ford Falcon of North America, and even if it was manufactured in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile and Mexico. there is no such thing as a Falcon for the Americas, each one is a particular model and of a particular character and furthermore, the Ford Falcon (Australia) and Ford Falcon (Argentina) have their own pages! — Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 23:41, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ford inspiration to enter compact marketplace[edit]

Article tells that the 'demise of Nash/Desoto/Packard' (associating them to Edsel! -mistake) makes room for Ford Falcon? = meaningless/verbose/wrong historical context. AMC phased out Nash/Hudson names incrementally not to alienate their loyal customer bases, morphing focus to Rambler theme of compactness. Actual historical context= GM/Ford/Chrysler ten to seven years late to enter compact model marketplace after '50 Nash Rambler/'51 Kaiser Henry J/'53 Hudson Jet, but more importantly, AMC undoubtedly forced the industry to take notice when they outsold Chrysler in '58/9 by virtue of making a full line of more fuel efficient, unibody design, compact type cars.
