Peer Feedback: -The article does a very good job at remaining neutral and being very informal/educational on food swamps -Overall, although not required, I believe the sections are kind of short and maybe some more information would help give the article more life. -One very important thing you can do to improve your contribution would be to give more specific solutions in your proposed solutions. I believe this is the most important part of your article and providing some specific and diverse methods of eliminating food swamps can help grow your article a lot. -I personally liked the tone of your article. I will use your article to help me fix the language in my article so that my tone is more neutral and informal.

Peer Review:

What does the article (or section) do well? I really like the tone and professionalism that you maintained throughout the article. It is clear and informative while avoiding bias.

What changes would you suggest overall? Perhaps you could use a few examples of locations that are considered food swamps, and how that might look for somebody living in that area (I know that the articles from the "Food" reading list have several examples of areas labeled as food swamps. You could also add in a section defining a food desert, just for additional information, but it is not necessary.

What is the most important thing that the author could do to improve his/her contribution? I think you could add in resources to help individuals alleviate the negative effects of a food swamp if that situation applies to you (ex: in addition to suggesting government measures that need to be taken, include resources to private / nonprofit organizations that are involved in alleviating the negative effects in areas labeled food swamps).

Similar to the article Food desert, this one also downplays the voluntary choices made by community members. It cites one nebulous negative factor as "global commercialism of fast food". Not clear what that means. All but one of the solutions mentioned are activities done by outsiders for members of impacted communities. Solutions are not likely to succeed if they are only done by outsiders to benefit (as they see it) the community members.Pete unseth (talk) 03:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Move relevant content to "Food desert"[edit]

This article refers to the same situations as Food desert. Is this article a course project from students? The relevant bits should be move to the food desert article. One of the cited sources for this article wrote, "Often, communities described as food deserts and food swamps are one and the same." This one by itself adds nothing. The broad topic is worth an article, but not a separate one for each of the synonyms. Pete unseth (talk) 22:27, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How does "food swamp" significantly differ from "food desert"? I don't think we need this article, as well as "food desert". Pete unseth (talk) 21:27, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
