GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
    Issues listed below.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
References are not in the correct format.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
    Article appears to be stable.
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Image appears to comply with requirements.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Comments:

  • There are major issues with how references are presented. They currently do not comply to requirements. See WP:REF to see how references need to be presented.
  • The article has multiple grammar and WP:MoS problems. For example:
The album was released on August 18, 1998 through Immortal/Epic, The album features... - There should be a comma after 1998, and the comma after Epic should be a period.
The album received a 5x platinum... - 5x should be written out in full.
It's singles... - Incorrect punctuation: Its singles...
These are all in the lead alone.
  • The lead is a summary of what appears in the article. There must not be anything in the lead that is not covered elsewhere. For example, ""they're simply vehicles for the metallic grind" does not appear anywhere else. Please check each statement to ensure that they are covered below the lead.
  • Nu metal is wikiliked in the sections but not in the lead, where it should have been (and the links in the section/s removed).
  • Done I don't know why it was like thisCrowzRSA 23:36, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • There are major WP:MOS non-compliance issues. In particular, WP:NUMBERS (the exception being chart numbers in prose).
  • Titles of publications (e.g. Los Angeles Times) need to be in italics.
  • References in the charts should be at the chart themselves, not the chart number - see WP:CHART.

Summary: Overall, the quality of writing, multiple basic punctuation errors and incorrect referencing, does not make this a Good Article. I will allow up to seven days for these to be fixed before making any further decisions. I suggest getting a third-party editor who has not worked on the article before look at it. You might want to ask someone from WP:WikiProject Albums or WP:GOCE.

There were still numerous copy edit issues, which I have fixed myself (you can see this from the history page). Now, there are just two more main issues for me. 1) "Aside from its reviews, the album peaked at number one on four charts, including the Billboard 200.[31][32][33][34]" - There is no need for so many references for just one point. Keep the best one and remove the rest. 2) "Zeeland", which should be wikified, is not; while "high school", which need not be wikified, is. Please help correct these issues. Thanks. -- S Masters (talk) 06:48, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Final comments: Thank you for all your hard work done on this article. I am satisfied that it meets the requirements as a Good Article and am happy to pass it. -- S Masters (talk) 03:52, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
