Release[edit]

Follow Me Home is the upcoming 4th single from the Sugababes, which is the 2nd single with new band member, Amelle Berrabah, after the release of Red Dress.

Before this was confirmed, rumours circulated that "Gotta Be You", which is also the re-recored track is the next single but later change.

The single is scheldue to release in May or June 2006.

Producer?[edit]

I have just recently become interested in the group, but cannot find anywhere who produced the song. Production credits should be added to the infobox. Thanks. -- Underneath-it-All 16:50, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wrong time of year for this single....?[edit]

this isnt about editing this article or anything, but does anyone else agree that it was the wrong choice for a single to be released in june?

because at this time of year (with the weather getting hotter) people want summery, happy, dance/pop songs (a la push the button) and this song is a ballad, thats why it didnt do well on the charts, i think that they should have released 'gotta be you', a much more summertime song, plus i think that the sugababes release too many ballads, there was no need to release another ballad after we had 'ugly' a few months before, its just like the whole 'too lost in you'/'caught in a moment' fiasco from the last album and come to think of it, 'stronger' then 'shape' SUGABABES, ONE BALLAD SINGLE PER ALBUM PLEASE!!!!, AND ONLY AT CHRISTMAS TIME WHEN SLOW SONGS ARE OUT. i think they release so many ballads because they want to show off their vocals..... girls, we know you can sing, you dont need to prove it every other single, all their #1 songs, and bigger hits have been upbeat, pop/dance songs, not ballads (when i say ballad, i mean a slow song), example

Freak like me.....ballad = no Round Round.......ballad = no Hole in the head..ballad = no push the button...ballad = no

lowest charting songs =

new year..........ballad = yes run for cover.....ballad = yes soul sound........ballad = yes stronger..........ballad = yes (well, a kind of powerballad) shape.............ballad = yes too lost in you...ballad = yes caught in a moment..ballad = yes follow me home....ballad = yes

the only exeption in all of their singles is 'ugly' but i think that it charated so high because is was still riding on the sucess and hype of 'push the button' and the fact that the album went to number 1, plus ugle was released in the winter, at the right time of year

anyway, i know this is a bit of a ramble, but i am a big sugababes fan, and follow me home is one of my favourite sugababe songs.....but i want to see them do well in the charts, and i dont think that releasing all these slow songs (at the wrong time of year) is doing them any favours....its about time that their record company realised this

i cant find a decent, active sugababes forum, so that why i put this here, i would be every ineterested in what other people think about this...and why they think that this single charted so low (#32, by far their lowest so far)

(oh, after i posted this, i saw the 'this is not a general talk/forum page', whoops, even though it says that, i will still leave it here anayway, i cant see what harm its doing.....) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.1.112.20 (talkcontribs)

- Yes, simply because once again the sugababes management are once again predictable and doesn't really know how to work the music market in the UK. "Follow Me Home" (which i love by the way) is a wintery song, but it was released in summer, so i am totally not suprised it failed. Gotta Be You/Ace Reject double side would of been a wise choice. 218.101.70.6

General
Info box
  • Use the release and length templates.
Lead
  • It needs to be mentioned that Buena left because it's confusing to read about her writing a verse about her daughter but to see a picture of Berrabah on the artwork.
Composition and theme
  • Per WP:CITEKILL, "Musically, "Follow Me Home" is a downtempo[6] electropop[5] and R&B ballad.[7]" you a probably best to just put all three citations together at the end of the sentence.
Line-up change and release
  • I think this section should be put into the Conception and background section, it doesn't work here.
     Not done  — AARONTALK 14:14, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean, it has its own section as it should, concept section is too big anyway Till 14:37, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The line up change should come before the composition. It's a part of the development of the song. And the concept section is tiny.  — AARONTALK 16:23, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The sections fine in my opinion. I moved it up though Till 01:50, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't have a problem with the content of the section, just where the section was placed in the article. Either as a sub section of the Background or how you have done it.  — AARONTALK 19:47, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Critical reception
  • This section is very quote like, it needs to have more flow so put some of them into your own words or reduce the amount of the quote you use and combine it with your own words.
Music video
  • This could be a two paragraph section to be honest, three is too much.
  • Put the picture on the right hand side.
  • The first paragraph has no flow and is full of abrupt stops. It's very jarring to read. Make use of comma's and reword the sentences to make them flow into each other. It reads like a list of facts at the moment.
Credits and personnel
  • Put this section above the Charts section
