Conflict of Interest or Original Work[edit]

The primary work referenced on this article is the work of the same individual making edits to this article. I am awaiting guidance from the community at large regarding whether this counts as Conflict of Interest or Original Work; however, for the time being, I have tagged this article as containing original research to notify anyone reading this article to take that into consideration. Discussion of this matter is welcome and I will be seeking better sources at the soonest possible opportunity. (Cjstepney (talk) 22:21, 19 October 2019 (UTC))[reply]

@Cjstepney: I believe it qualifies as conflict of interest rather than original research. Volcanoguy 19:16, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Volcanoguy:Thanks for the insight. Looking into it further, I've found that apparently this page may be an example of citation spam as there are numerous references to a single source, that source being a self-citation (which is apparently acceptable if the source is reputable). {Cjstepney (talk) 22:57, 21 October 2019 (UTC)}[reply]
@Cjstepney: it would be ideal to find more WP:RS to add in the article so it's not mostly using the self-citation. Volcanoguy 10:14, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Volcanoguy: I will do so, I'm probably going to make another trip to the university this weekend to get more BC Parks related books and I'll see if they have anything elsewhere in the collections about these volcanoes - perhaps in records of the relevant ministries/departments or survey records. {Cjstepney (talk) 23:08, 22 October 2019 (UTC)}[reply]
@Volcanoguy: I think my editing of this page will end here. I will leave this resource from the Smithsonian that includes a good number of sources that are frankly too dense for an elementary school teacher to be digging through. https://volcano.si.edu/volcano.cfm?vn=320150 {Cjstepney (talk) 03:02, 23 October 2019 (UTC)}[reply]
@Cjstepney: I was able to find a 1987 thesis on the lavas in Wells Gray Provincial Park that has information for the Spanish Lake and Flourmill centres. I will use it to expand this article. Volcanoguy 16:44, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Volcanoguy: That is hugely appreciated. I'll go back to editing my usual pages now... thanks for being so helpful in this case! Cheers. {Cjstepney (talk) 22:08, 23 October 2019 (UTC)}[reply]
@Cjstepney: I just added information and subsections for the Spanish Lake and Flourmill centres. Volcanoguy 07:47, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
