Proposed move[edit]

Can this be retitled? The song is actually titled "Flash Light" not "Flashlight". (yeah, you better bet this is a Minor edit..) Andrzejbanas 03:58, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Story behind the song[edit]

Hi, this is Professor Groove from WEFUNK Radio. A WEFUNK show is cited to support the paragraph about George Clinton being inspired by WWII bomb shelter tests and a Bar Mitzvah. This story was told on-air by one of our guests. At the time it struck me as far-fetched and I have never been able to find any information (aside from our guest's words) to support the story. Our guest does not personally know Clinton. One thing that casts some doubt is that George Clinton is accepted to have grown up in New Jersey, not Washington DC (as the story contends). I am not comfortable having the WEFUNK show be the only citation for the Flash Light origin story. 70.49.122.57 (talk) 06:26, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the anecdote from the article. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 15:57, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Distinctive" bass-line[edit]

It may be recognisable, but I don't think it's fair to call it distinctive. It's taken almost note for note from a Tower of Power song, 'Clean Slate'. I'm not saying they're plagiarists or anything, I'm sure it happens all the time in funk. But credit where credit's due, no less. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fudge-o (talkcontribs) 04:54, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
