Questions[edit]

Why is the Creek flag listed as "historical" here but is used on the Creek page? Why is the Sac and Fox flag listed under Misc.? Rmhermen 15:55, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Creek flag is actually that of the State of Muskogee, a short-lived sovereign state formed and headed by Englishman William Augustus Bowles who also designed this flag (see also [1].) I don't know if it is used to represent all Creek people of today or not. As for the Sac and Fox flag; I am unsure about its official status. The List of Native American Tribal Entities lists several different Sac and Fox nations spread over several states and they all seem to be using different local flags. Thanks for your comments! -- Himasaram 22:04, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I moved the Sac and Fox flag to the "Federally recognized" section. According to FOTW, it is the flag of the Sac and Fox Nations of Iowa. -- Himasaram 09:00, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
