Can someone of greater skill than myself turn Image:Fishing reel.svg into an image mapped diagram like that? gren グレン 10:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to have numbers on it now, is that what you wanted by "image mapped diagram"? It would be helpful to get some diagrams that show how each type of reel functions. --Ace Frahm 04:05, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edits conducted as part of Technical Editing class[edit]

I have edited this page as part of a class project. If anyone does not agree with some of my changes please do not revert the whole page but instead edit the individual disagreements. Also I think the entire last two paragraphs under "reel mechanisms" can be deleted because this information is covered elsewhere in the article; Any consesus? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rjdenissen (talkcontribs) 00:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty good all around, I'd say. I made a minor grammatical correction [[1]]. At a quick glance, I don't think the "reel mechanisms" section is redundant; anti-reverse reels are only mentioned in passing earlier on, and I don't see any information about direct-drive reels anywhere else in the article. Adding external link[edit]

I have added a link to a film trailer about Hardy's and the development of UK fishing tackle. However this is to an official site rather than to Youtube, because Youtube resolution and quality is lower. This is my 1st edit/post so if it is more appropriate to link to the more neutral but lower quality Youtube then please advise or change to http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Jyc0QQ0cup4 .

I should declare that I am the maker of the film The Lost World of Mr Hardy, and believe the film has something very unique, positive and of historical importance to contribute toward the subject of fishing tackle. I will be adding a separate entry in the film section for The Lost World of Mr Hardy as soon as I can. --Big ambrosia (talk) 12:56, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

citations[edit]

I'm thinking that this article has the appropriate amount of references. Any thoughts about deleting the article maintenance tag relating to references? I'm not sure what other references/sources are needed.... 70.209.142.119 (talk) 16:39, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

article maintenance tags[edit]

Hi, I'm thinking that this article has an appropriate number and quality of references/sources. I realize that no article is "perfectly" referenced, heck each word in a article could be flagged for needing a reference. So on balance it looks good with the amount of references. I'll wait a while before removing the article tag on references. Cityside189 (talk) 16:43, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
