I removed this section:

"Her 7 brothers were changed into swans, and the only way to change them back was for her to knit them garments made out of a plant with thorns. She made 6 garments and the 7th was missing 1 sleeve, so the youngest brother was forced to live out his life as part human/part swan."

It is from a fairy story (http://www.mainlesson.com/display.php?author=hunt&book=grimm&story=sixswans). It is not part of the story of the Children of Lir.
