Marketing hype deleted[edit]

I've deleted the following text from the article: it's unsourced, reads like marketing hype and is almost certainly in breach of somebody's copyright. It's also clearly untrue: it claims that the sole ingredients are barley and water but where does the alcohol come from without yeast? I've replaced the final bulletted list with a summary. Dricherby (talk) 00:35, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Finlandia Story - Production Process
Finlandia Vodka is produced from entirely natural ingredients including the finest six-row barley grown in fields under the long days and white nights of the Finnish summer, and pure glacier spring water. The barley is distilled into grain spirits, using a continuous multi-pressure distillation system. The distillation technology utilizes a series of seven, state-of-the-art, 81 foot high columns, and more than 200 distillation steps. To protect the environment, Finlandia efficiently use renewable energy and recycle all by-products into good use. Nothing goes to waste.
About the ingredients:
Finlandia Vodka only uses two ingredients: six-row barley and pure glacial spring water. The pure glacial spring water requires no additional treatment or processing because it has trickled through a 10,000 year old glacial moraine – nature’s perfect filter. Only a fine sediment filter is used prior to marrying it with the spirit. Any other type of filter would make it less pure.
Only in Finland’s pure environment are the conditions just perfect to grow six-row barley. Oils, found naturally in many crops like wheat, can leave impure tastes and odors in vodka. But the six-row barley Finlandia uses has very low amounts of oils, resulting in Finlandia’s famous pristine taste.
Finlandia Vodka was one of the first premium vodkas to introduce flavors from nature in 1994 with the launch of Cranberry Fusion. Since then, Finlandia has introduced more fresh tasting flavors to the portfolio:
o Finlandia Lime Fusion (1999)
o Finlandia Mango Fusion (2004)
o Finlandia Redberry Fusion (2004)
o Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion (2007)
o Finlandia Tangerine Fusion (2009)

————

And more such hype deleted today. Wikipedia is not a means of promotion. I suspect also that much of the hype that finds its way into this article is copy-pasted from Finlandia's website, in violation of copyright. Do not do this. Dricherby (talk) 10:45, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting COI editing help[edit]

Hi, my name is Daria and I work for Brown-Forman, the owner of Finalndia vodka. I’m aware of Wikipedia’s COI policies and guidelines and intend to follow them closely. Any mistakes or non-conformance to these policies are unintentional.

I’m here to contribute neutral and factual information that is supported by reliable sources. As suggested by Wikipedia’s COI guidelines, I avoided editing Finlandia page directly. Instead, I've written a more detailed draft article based on the original article here and kindly ask you – an impartial Wikipedian – to review it. If you find the information useful and appropriate, please help me to add it to the existing Finlandia page.

Any feedback or insights are warmly welcomed. Thanks, Daria Undicca (talk) 10:54, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've added most of the proposed material, but without all the awards, some promotional language, primary sources, etc. Thanks for contributing! The page looks much better now. CorporateM (Talk) 20:11, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, David, I really appreciate your help with the article. I agree with all of your comments - my only other request is to update the profile picture if possible. The bottle from the picture hasn't been sold since 2011, so would be great to display the current one. Thanks, Daria Undicca (talk) 09:58, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Finlandia (vodka)Finlandia Vodka – This beverage is usually called by its full product name Finlandia Vodka, not just Finlandia. The Finnish article fi:Finlandia Vodka also uses the full product name. JIP | Talk 19:38, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose I see about the same amount of usage of "Finlandia Vodka" and "Finlandia vodka". The bottle labels suggest the brand is "Finlandia". I don't see evidence for a move User:力 (powera, π, ν) 01:05, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. The natural disambiguation argument alone would have won me over, but even the manufacturer uses "Finlandia" and "Finlandia Vodka" interchangeably, see [1]: "For half a century, Finlanda Vodka has been crafted...", "Finlandia Vodka delivers a..." etc. -Ljleppan (talk) 12:03, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Brandmeister, Wikipedical, and Kj cheetham: queried move request Happily888 (talk) 01:33, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Article was previously moved as a result of a requested move last December, so this doesn't qualify as uncontroversial. If you believe there's consensus to move the page back, you should request another move. -- Wikipedical (talk) 20:30, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The WP:COMMONNAME is also more important than the brand name. -Kj cheetham (talk) 21:03, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
