Is there a source that discusses this topic beyond mentioning that it is an essentially algebraic concept? Indeed, is there a source at all? I suggest a merger into Von Neumann algebra as a single paragraph provided that a reference can be found. Deltahedron (talk) 07:36, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
