Find correct name The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere. The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.

Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

I think Ferdinand II of Portugal is born in 1816 and not in 1819.

Why do ppl continue calling the house of bragança post-Ferdinand II as "Bragança-Wettin" when in portugal there has never been the tradition of renaming a house following the name of the patriarchal branch? It should be only house of Brangança, no?

Actually, when Queen Maria and King Fernando’s son came to the throne in 1853 the House of Braganza was replaced with the House of Braganza-Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Move to Fernando II of Portugal[edit]

Isn't moving this article a bit controversial? It is true that every Portuguese monarch has been moved to Portuguese names, but would his German background be a case for him being at Ferdinand instead?--The Emperor's New Spy (talk) 07:49, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

But he was not called "King Ferdinand", but King "Dom Fernando". What I usually do in the article I write, when someone was known by different names during his/her lifetime is to call him/her by the name the/she ws known until a certain point and then change at the appropriate moment. An example: let's say we start working on this article, this one about Fernando II. Until the birth of his first child with Maria he would be called within this article "Ferdinand" and from then on as "Fernando II", explaining that he had become the King of Portugal. See Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, Duke of Caxias. He is called "Luís Alves" until the moment he became Caxias. --Lecen (talk) 10:25, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is no proper basis in the English Wikipedia to name this article "Fernando II of Portugal", it should be "Ferdinand II of Portugal". See for example Ferdinand II of Aragon. Gryffindor (talk) 18:28, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
