How are the the originators of desert rock when Kyuss formed in 1989? Answer: Have you *heard* wretch? Not at all the same style.

On the main page, it states that Kyuss are a 'younger' band.

Also, on Fatso Jetson's page, it says they are considered to have created desert rock. But they formed in 1994, the year that '...Sky Valley' was released.

Answer to the above comments: The "originators" comment refers to not Fatso Jetson persay but other groups such as Across the River, Yawing Man, The sort of Quartet, and various other bands that Mario Lalli was a founding member, these bands starting with Across the river (1983-1986)then Yawning Man(1987-present)Sort of Quartet(1989-1998) combined the influence of heavy rock ,punk and experimenting with jazz and many other musical genres. These band have been said to be an influence on other desert musicians in exploring beyond the confines of the popular notion of rock or punk . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.55.104.201 (talk) 08:15, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is just self-serving editorialising crap written by the band members or a fan. How about some objectivity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.84.112.91 (talk) 11:27, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not self-serving crap. It's a fact that the members of Fatso Jetson (specifically Mario and Larry Lalli) were influential in developing the desert rock scene and inspired Kyuss. But don't take my word for it, Brant Bjork has said as much in a interview he did in LA Weekly, quoted in Wikipedia article for Yawning Man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yawning_Man Can we please close this specious dispute now? removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:50, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
