Title[edit]

This article should really be titled Farm-to-market roads in Texas. This title should have more information about other states which have farm-to-market road systems. --Fredddie 23:24, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this sort of road used in any states besides Texas? If it is, then some indication of which states label roads this way should be added to the article. If it isn't, then the first paragraph should be removed. Rockphed (talk) 18:38, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

US 281[edit]

The article currently states

Roads occurring west of U.S. Highway 281 (or Interstate 35 in some locations) are designated ranch-to-market roads, while those occurring east of US 281 are generally designated farm-to-market roads

Is there a source that states that FM/RM roads are named according to their location relative to US 281? Not to sound original-researchy, but where I live (Bexar county) most/all such roads are FM roads on both sides of 281 (and 35). abwayax (contribs, talk) 01:43, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, I found a cite on Texas state highways. abwayax (contribs, talk) 01:03, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The map makes it clear that this is entirely false, despite what TXDOT claims. --NE2 22:30, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ranch Road[edit]

The article states that the only road actually called Ranch Road is Ranch Road 1, which is actually false. There is a Ranch Road in Sachse, TX which originates at TX-78 and runs westbound and serves as the boundary between Maxwell Creek Rd and Dewitt Rd which changes names at the Ranch Road intersection. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.186.107.4 (talk) 09:29, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see where the road changes names, but I don't see any Ranch Road there. We need more proof. –Fredddie 13:07, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
