Highest waterfall east of the Mississippi[edit]

Fall Creek Falls is not the highest US waterfall east of the Mississippi River. It is however the highest vertical drop waterfall east of the Mississippi.

Upper Whitewater Falls, in North Carolina, is the highest waterfall at a height of 411 feet. It is protected by the Nantahala National Forest. The National Forest has a brochure about Whitewater Falls.[1]

Crabtree Falls is the tallest[edit]

Crabtree Falls, Virginia has the title - 305 m (1000 ft)

In addition to Crabtree Falls and Whitewater Falls, there are several other taller waterfalls:

Amicalola Falls, Georgia - 222 m (729 ft)
Cascade Falls, Georgia - 183 m (600 ft) cascade with 3 drops, the tallest of which is 80 m (262 ft).
Cochrans Falls, Georgia - 183 m (600 ft) cascade.

To all:

I just put back my waterfall website link to Fall Creek falls page because my site Escapingtoparadise has pictures of this waterfall and about 30 other Tennessee fall photos. If you visit my site and check the content, I don't see how it's not relevant to the subject of waterfalls? I recently put my link on this page and a few other waterfall pages on Wikipedia, but my links were erased because someone told me it was advertising. Am I trying to get more visitors on my site? Sure, but if you like visiting waterfalls, I think most people would enjoy my website.

This page seems to attract a lot of link spam. I removed the latest site added. Although there are a few interesting things on the site (the history section for example), it is unsourced and to little to really warrant a link. -ChristopherM 16:58, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once again I have removed links per WP:LINKS. Below are my reasons for each site.

escapingtoparadise.com: provides 2 images of waterfalls already present in the article. Adds nothing useful.

fallcreekfallsstatepark.blogspot.com: requires registration

tennesseeencyclopedia.net: already in references, don't need 2 links to it.

mountainglenonline.com: has been removed in the past. Spam link.
